Aruba Cloud colocates in Atman Data Center WAW-2
Atman builds a portfolio of service providers within its data center campus
Aruba Cloud, an Italian hosting and cloud computing company, has started selling its solutions in Poland based on local infrastructure. The supplier eagerly invests in the construction of its own DC facilities, but in Poland decided to work with Atman, the leader of the Polish data center market. Aruba Cloud has placed its infrastructure in the carrier neutral Atman Data Center Warsaw-2, located in the business center of Mokotow in Warsaw. The facility meets the requirements of data center standard defined in the industry as Tier III.
Poland is the sixth country (after Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain and the Czech Republic) in which Aruba Cloud has decided to create a base for its services, recognizing the great potential of its cloud computing market. According to the forecasts of ICT industry analysts, this market will grow by over 20 percent y/y in the years to come. The demand for solutions based on cloud computing is stimulated i.a. by digital business transformation, as well as the growing importance of data analytics. The rapid development of SMEs, which more and more often perceive IT outsourcing as a first choice solution, is also noteworthy, and generates over 40 percent of the market revenues.
“In response to the needs of our customers on the CEE markets, as well as pursuing our policy of further expansion on the Polish market, we decided to physically appear in Poland. We chose Warsaw because it has very good telecommunications infrastructure, a lot of data centers and potential partners for our further expansion. So one of the priorities was the location, and also the appropriate technological background. That is why we chose the offer of Atman which has worked successfully in the colocation market in Poland for years,” explains Marcin Zmaczyński, Senior Marketing Executive at Aruba Cloud.
Towards neutrality
Starting cooperation with one of Europe’s leading providers of cloud services is yet another step for Atman to create an internal market for telecommunications service providers within its data center. At the beginning of the year, the operator announced the establishment of the first carrier neutral data center campus in the CEE region.
“We are consistently moving towards the creation of a ‘supplier market’, thus allowing customers the freedom to choose within a single DC facility. At the same location, they can benefit from competitive solutions from multiple vendors offering services in a number of areas, including: telecommunications, security, disaster recovery plan preparation and cloud computing based solutions. We want our customers to be able to decide who they work with and who manages a given element of their independently built infrastructure, so cooperation with Aruba Cloud is a perfect fit for this strategy,” says Daniel Szcześniewski, Marketing and Strategy Director at Atman.
A similar model of operation, based on carrier neutrality, has been successfully used by such companies as IBM, Hewlett Packard and Telehouse.
ATM S.A., operating under the Atman brand name, is a Warsaw Stock Exchange listed corporation which is the leader in the Polish data center market and expert in the secure transmission and processing of data. Atman provides colocation, hosting and cloud computing services at its own data centers, which contain total space of 13,600 square meters. Using its foreign connections and its fiber-optic networks in the largest cities in Poland, Atman offers broadband services, including Internet access and data transmission. Its main clients are telecommunications operators, traditional media and Web portals, as well as businesses in the financial sector, commerce and industry. For more information see atman.pl.
