dhosting.pl moves its infrastructure to Atman. Reason? Safety
Hosting company dhosting.pl, which has been operating for nearly a decade, moved its infrastructure to Atman Data Center.
In the course of the year, the company doubled the number of services sold, started operating in the United States, and gained large clients. The cooperation with Atman is to help dhosting.pl handle the growing sales while minimizing the risk of failure.
A Polish hosting company dhosting.pl changed its business model completely two years ago. It gave up all the services it had offered, and replaced them with one – Flexible Web Hosting. This allowed for the introduction of settlements depending on the actual consumption of resources by customers: computing power, disk space, RAM.
Rapid development leads to outsourcing
Although it was a risky step, during one year dhosting.pl more than doubled its sales, as over 5 thousand customers decided to use the service. The company also acquired large brands, which decided to host their websites on the servers of the Warsaw company.
“We acquired, among others, Kazar, Fibaro and public institutions, such as the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. We also started our business in the United States, and in January alone, sales increased by 45% compared to the last December. In order to avoid of our competition, which while growing fast, did not care enough about security, and as a result of numerous failures lost many customers, we decided to move our infrastructure to the largest data center in Poland. Apart from a high level of security, it is one of the few DC operators providing access to many IT services which we can use along with the development of our business,” explains Rafał Kuśmider, CEO of dhosting.pl. “Cooperation with Atman is to help us provide the highest service level for growing sales. We want to focus on product development and scaling up, not on running a data center,” he adds.
According to a report by the U.S. company Liquid Web, security and reliability are the main criteria for selecting a hosting service provider for more than 88% of companies which regard network technologies as the basis of their operations. In addition, more than 91% of them claims that safety is becoming the most important factor in choosing a new provider when the company is dissatisfied with the quality of the service it has been provided with so far. These figures are not surprising when you take into account research results of Google’s DoubleClick: 53% of mobile websites visits are abandoned if pages take over 3 seconds to load. Since Internet users’ demands for speed are so high, their reactions to temporary unavailability of services are easy to predict.
“More and more companies in the hosting market are recognizing the importance of business continuity and data security. This is all the more important as 2018 brought us new legal regulations such as GDPR. The statistics clearly show that information security is not only a theory, but also a strategic issue for every company whose activity is based on technology. According to various statistics, in 2017, as many as 62% of enterprises reported disruptions and downtimes, which had an impact on their financial results,” comments Adam Ponichtera, Sales Director at Atman.
Towards the Cloud
dhosting.pl has already cooperated with Atman before, and hitherto used Internet access services and carrier-class links which were critical to the hosting provider’s business continuity. Thus far, dhosting.pl has colocated its infrastructure in a server room with lower parameters, being a part of an office building in the center of Warsaw. Due to the agreement with Atman, now the servers are hosted in the Warsaw data center that meets the strict requirements of the TIER III standard for data centers, ensuring high stability of infrastructure operation. Thanks to round-the-clock technical support the infrastructure is fully scalable, and the SLA guarantees 99.999% availability.
The Management Board of dhosting.pl does not exclude further investments in the IT infrastructure. The Board is considering, among others, use of Atman Cloud in the nearest future.
“From our point of view, the cloud has many advantages, and the most important one is the ability to scale services. That perfectly fits our business model which assumes rapid development with great attention to costs. We are planning to be at the forefront when it comes to the scale of acquiring new customers by the end of 2018,” declares Rafał Kuśmider.
