Zayo Europe Strengthens East Europe Presence with Two New Tier 1 IP PoPs in Warsaw

Company news, New contracts

Zayo Europe logoZayo Europe, a leading fibre infrastructure provider, today announced the launch of two new high-capacity Tier-1 IP Points of Presence (PoPs) in Warsaw, Poland, significantly strengthening its footprint in Central and Eastern Europe.

The new PoPs are located within the two most prominent data center facilities in Warsaw: Equinix WA1, the city’s most established interconnection hub, and Atman WAW-2, one of Poland’s fastest-growing data cente campuses. Both sites are connected to Berlin and Frankfurt, linking Warsaw directly into Zayo Europe’s core pan-European backbone and the wider European digital ecosystem.

As the fastest growing economy in the EU, Poland has become the heart of the digital economy in Central Eastern Europe. Rising domestic demand and a surge in cloud and AI investment have placed Warsaw at the centre of Europe’s evolving connectivity landscape.

By establishing a physical presence at both Equinix and Atman, Zayo Europe is bringing 400GE-enabled Tier-1 IP Transit, Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) and CloudLink services directly to the city’s most connected ecosystems. This enables local ISPs, content providers and enterprises to scale with improved geographic diversity and advanced DDoS mitigation.

Colman Deegan, CEO at Zayo Europe, said: “Warsaw is rapidly establishing itself as a primary pillar and a crossroad of the continent’s digital corridors, and our expansion here is a direct response to that shift. We’ve always been fundamentally customer-led, and right now, the demand for high-performance connectivity in Poland is guaranteed.

“By establishing this foothold, we’re providing resilient network connectivity that allows our customers to navigate Eastern Europe’s innovation economy without hitting the legacy bottlenecks of the past. Delivering the Zayo Europe Tier-1 IP Transit proposition into Warsaw marketplace, will improve the connectivity landscape of Poland and the regional ecosystem. We’re creating a strategic foothold that enables an alternative interconnection point for meeting operators from the Baltics, the Nordics, and the rest of Europe. By building the physical foundations, we’re ensuring these markets have the reach and reliability they need to compete on a global stage.”

Sławomir Koszołko, CEO at Atman, said: “Warsaw is now a critical intersection for European data and has a central role to play in the AI revolution. That won’t just happen overnight though – it’s built on power and high-capacity fibre. By bringing Zayo Europe’s Tier-1 network directly into our WAW-2 campus, we’re removing the friction for companies looking to scale across the continent. We’re giving our customers the most direct, high-speed route into the heart of Europe’s digital economy so Poland can lead the next wave of innovation, rather than just watching it happen.”

Sylwia Pyśkiewicz, MD at Equinix Poland, said: “Equinix WA1 has always been the primary intersection for data in Poland, but a hub is only as powerful as the networks that connect to it. By bringing Zayo Europe’s Tier-1 backbone directly into our ecosystem, we’re effectively shortening the distance between Warsaw and the world’s major digital markets. For companies navigating the massive infrastructure demands of AI and cloud expansion, this high-capacity access is the essential hardware for scaling at speed. With Zayo Europe deepening its roots here, we’re ensuring Poland remains the most competitive environment for innovation in Central Europe.”
